The responsibility of the writer is to be available to their Muse, and to diligently practice their craft…
because someone out there is waiting for that writer’s story.

Book Coaching & Editing

Lost contact with your source of inspiration and ideas?

Ready to write your book but can’t seem to get those first words on the page?

Then you’ve come to the right place. More than craft and technique, telling your story, writing your book is a courageous act of heart and soul, calling to the deepest parts of you and your life. That call is often challenged by old patterns and beliefs.

If you’ve lost heart or disconnected from your story and Muse, then there are several ways to reconnect and get the courage and magic back into your writing.

Book Coaching

Have you lost connection with your source of inspiration?

Are you confused about your creative direction or priorities?

Are you ready to write your book but afraid to begin?

Have you lost the magic of your story and your desire to continue?

In ancient times, people believed that an artist or writer was a channel for creative work, understanding that the ideas came through her but not from her. Yes, the writer needed the skills and experience to craft that idea into a powerful story, but the inspiration came from the Muse.

The responsibility of the writer then, is to be available to the Muse, to honor and respect the inspiration, and to diligently practice her craft to manifest those inspirations into poems, stories and plays.

Editing and Critiquing Services

As a writer, I know how hard it can be, after months or years of working on a project, to be able to really see your manuscript.

I give you the new perspective you need to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript in terms of conflict, character development and motivations, genre tropes, building story tension, and story deadwood.

Writing and editing experience includes:

  • Content editor for a digital publisher
  • Freelance writer for national trade and specialty magazines
  • Book reviewer for print and online publications including Foreword Magazine, Clarion, and Broadsheet
  • Author of the award-winning Weaving a Woman’s Life: Spiritual Lessons from the Loom
  • Book coach for writers of both fiction and nonfiction
  • MFA in Creative Writing

Having read thousands of books, I understand the elements that are necessary to hook your readers. In today’s crowded book market, make sure your manuscript or proposal is the best it can be.
