Time to Be or Seek For a Creativity Mentor?

Theme, The Hermit. This Major Arcana figure is the archetype for the Wise Man, the figure who, through experience and age, serves as teacher, mentor, guide, or spiritual counselor. As such, The Hermit asks you if it is time for you to consider either being a mentor for someone following your path of creativity, or for you to seek a mentor to help you progress with more ease and speed. Regardless of where you are in your journey, you can always help someone else on theirs, and ask for help on yours.

Focus, King of Coins. Coins is the element of Earth in the realm of home, health, wealth, or anything physical. The King is the master of the element and asks you if it is time to seek practical support from someone or some group who takes pride in helping creatives succeed? Is it time to apply for a grant or residency? Or, if you are the King, is it time to host a retreat, sponsor a contest, or organize an event that will highlight creative work and their makers?

Action, 5 of Cups. Cups is the element of Water in the realm of heart, emotions, dreams, intuition, and creativity. Five, of course, is a point of challenge or conflict in the tarot. Note that although three cups are overturned or tipping, two remain steady and upright. Now is not the time to continue to bewail what failed but rather to turn your attention to what still holds promise, and to use what you have learned from previous failures or losses. Don’t waste any more time grieving for what could have been when you still have options for future work.

When you mentor or receive mentoring, ask for or give practical support, and give attention to what still holds promise, you receive the gifts of this Page.
